Startups:  Please come dressed as a witty take on one of your favorite as their favorite companies

Inventors and Makers:  Please come dressed as your favorite inventors or inventions.

Mentors and Investors:  You're the "adults with the treats" so costumes are optional... :)

They’ll all be looking for special treats from local mentors, merchants, and EiRs (Entrepreneurs and Experts in Residence from local Universities).

RULES To TRICK OR TREAT:

Startup Founders & Teams will hand a mentor (EiR) a copy of their executive summary.

Inventors and Makers can substitute a patent cover sheet for an executive summary.

Mentors/EiRs will then give them a startup related treat: a favorite article, a corporate mug or other swag, a business book, a gift card for a cup of coffee, or any other startup related goodie that the mentor chooses to give out. (Minimum participation: giveaways for at least 10 startups, inventors or makers)

Community Business Giveaways encouraged from Local Businesses, who would like to participate. (Minimum participation: giveaways for at least 10 startups, inventors or makers)

About the Inventors Forum

The Southern California Inventors Forum is one of the largest inventors’ groups in the United States.  Formed over 20 years ago as a small group of inventors, the group is now a 501(c)(3) non-profit with over 500 members. We help inventors learn how to research, develop and protect their inventions with patents, trademarks, and other intellectual property.  We offer valuable support and insight into ways to profit from their inventions through building their own business or licensing their inventions.

The Inventors Forum holds 2 meetings a month:

  • a speaker’s meeting, sponsored in part by UCI’s Applied Innovation at 5141 California Ave #250, Irvine, CA
  • a members’ assistance meeting (for members only) sponsored in part by Urban Workshop at 365 Clinton, Costa Mesa, CA

About the Urban Workshop
